Torre Chianca is a seaside resort of Salento in Lecce, in the green of the countryside and into the blue of sea.
The town is named by the sixteenth-century tower built by the Spaniards to defend Salento from the attacks of Saracens.
Of particular interest are the basins Idume and Fetida, with the mouth of the underground Idume river which flows into the Adriatic Sea; these basins are part of the spectacular Parco del Rauccio. The sweet and fresh spring waters of these basins meet the beautiful waters of the sea of Salento.
The coast looks like a long stretch of beaches with shallow waters and sandy and offers the visitor relaxation and refreshment.
